The contrada series is the backbone of Arianna's work since 2004. The single vineyard Frappato from the Fossa di Lupo site has sandy soild with shades that go from red to chestnut brown and with a substantial presence of limestone rocks on the surface. After the first 40 cm of sand, we arrive at a layer of solid, and hard limestone. This contrada faces the Hyblaean Mountains at the northeast; from here the wines typically originate as fruity but also austere,
presenting great acidity. FL. 2700 bottles produced.

100% Grillo
Arianna acquired 2ha of land in 2016 in the contrada of Santa Marghertia and planted Grillo, spread out in 4 blocks at the foot of the Arcibessi mountain. Southern and Northern Coast parcels give the wine's salinity and complexity, while the Terrazza and Trefile parcels give flesh and acidity. Bianco SM was born from Arianna's desire to give life to a white wine capable of enclosing the limestone and landscape of the Ibeli Mountains in a single sip. Medium-bodied, herbal, citrus peel, ginger, bracing acidity, lemon pith, with a core of minerality. Refreshing & concentrated.

100% Frappato from Pattineo
This historic contrada is located beyond Serra San Bartolo ridge and historically has always produced very elegant wines thanks to a deep layer of marine sand (50-60 cm), with little presence of limestone rocks on the surface. The Chiusa di Pettineo vines are nearly 60 years old. The wines of the Pettineo are fruit-driven with silky tannins and lively acidity.

100% Frappato from Bombolieri
This vineyard is situated on a point with high limestone content in the soil, facing the Serra San Bartolo. The lands can vary from colours of deep chestnut to white, but the surface’s layer of sand is decisively lower: only 25 cm. Just below this thin layer you will find solid limestone. It’s here, in the Vigna Strada that this wine is born, concentrated and straightforward, with highly persistent acidity.

A floral and nuanced grappa made with 100% Frappato skins, pulp and seeds. Frappato skins are thick and fragrant and that’s why Arianna decided to make a grappa with this grape. The rest is the careful work of Giovanni La Fauci, a master distiller at Valdina, Messina.
