En Barberon is single plot planted in 1974-1975 near the border between the climats of Arbois and Chateau-Chalon. The Chardonnay made from this single site is one filled with complexity, with layers upon layers of concentrated and complex aromatics and flavours, with traces of smokiness. Buttery, citrussy, with minerality and perfect balance, it'll keep for a long time in the cellar.

The old vines have gained considerable complexity, expressing the terroir well beyond the varietal aromatic identity of Savagnin. This is why Stéphane opts today for aging for two years in barrels, without new wood: a long time that will allow the wine to perfect its balance. On the palate, there is both a density and staggering energy: with a rich texture and yet expressive and juicy acidity. Flavours of quince, spicy grapefruit jelly, citrus. The intensity of the finish is especially persistent, incredible!
